3-Part Development Officer Series

Does your nonprofit have a fund development plan? When did you last revise your plan? Is your funding diverse and sustainable? Let CRC help you improve and further utilize your fund development plan through our three-part Development Officer Series. Each full-day sessionaddresses specific elements of fund development; including fundraising trends, diversified funding tactics, individual giving strategies, donor retention, capital campaigns, and planned giving. With the latest resources in fund development, participants will have the opportunity to engage in open dialogue with peers and facilitators.

Part I: Principles of Fund Development and Individual Giving – November 30 | 10:00am – 5:00pm
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the current fundraising climate and emerging trends in Colorado, how your organization’s goals may align with these trends, and how you can gain a competitive edge by improving your case for support. Stop being reactive and start being proactive! Assess you organization’s financial health and the potential hurdles your organization may face. During this session, you will focus on building your organization’s individual giving program through prospect research, donor cultivation, individual giving solicitation and stewardship.

Part II: Capital Campaigns and Planned Giving – December 6 | 10:00am – 5:00pm
Starting a capital campaign or building a planned giving program? Don’t know where to begin? Join CRC and Alan Sherwood, President of Sherwood Consulting Services for this must see event! Sherwood focuses on capital and endowment campaigns, and has successfully conducted multiple campaigns from $500,000 to $18 million, exceeding expectations. This session will provide tools and strategies to engage donors in your community to plan a successful capital campaign, and build a sustainable planned giving program for the future.

Part III: Diversified Funding and Donor Engagement – December 14 | 10:00am – 5:00pm
Get out of the grant dependent cycle by learning new techniques for diversifying your revenue streams and reconnecting with your donors. Join us as we cover funding strategies like social enterprises, earned revenue streams, online giving, crowd funding, annual appeals and special events. Learn what will make you stand out to your donors and gain tips for adding earned revenue streams and donor engagement techniques from a Q&A panel featuring experts in the nonprofit sector.

Development Roundtables

Community Resource Center Development Roundtables provide an introduction to a Colorado-based funder and Program Officer, and an opportunity for peer-learning and networking. Participants will gain valuable and unique information regarding the funder’s history and priorities for Colorado giving, current strategic plan and funding initiatives, grant application submission and review process, tips for success from a Program Office, and an opportunity for open dialogue and questions with Program Officer.
