What to Expect

RPD conferences include many opportunities to increase your understanding of nonprofit best practices, collaborate with other community leaders and connect with Front Range and local funders. The funder roundtables are a signature of the RPD program and provide a unique opportunity to meet with grantmakers in a rural setting.

The goal of RPD is to bring increased access to resources to support sustainable rural nonprofits, increase the engagement of funders in rural communities, and encourage effective collaboration on a regional scale.

The Western Slope RPD will have some special experiences that showcase our small towns and diverse counties! Our host site, Delta County’s North Fork Valley, in the towns of Paonia and Hotchkiss, will take you back to a simpler time where cowboys still ride and the worse traffic jam is a cattle drive. You’ll appreciate the pristine scenic views of the the West Elk Mountains, the Grand Mesa and the North Fork of the Gunnison River. You’ll get the small town feel of a close connected community. You will immerse yourself into a progressive Creative District and enjoy the best broadband service in Western Colorado. You won’t find lodging at a chain motel, and you might be lucky enough to stay in a historic house, a yurt by the river, a winery’s cottage, a farm-stay and mesa B&B or lodge with views that never stop. So get ready, this is not your ordinary conference. Expect the unexpected and enjoy a North Fork Valley Experience.
