Our Inclusivity Statement
At CRC, we believe in the power of our sector to create change, and that change needs to start from within. As such, we have been on a journey to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for our staff, AmeriCorps VISTA members, board members, and every nonprofit professional we work with across Colorado. After we identified this need, our board and staff made a commitment to this ongoing process and formed a joint committee to help move this work forward. Staff and board members completed a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Assessment that affirmed we were headed in the right direction and provided recommendations to deepen our progress.
Our team has been hard at work over the last few years working to implement the recommendations of the assessment. After thoughtful reflection and discussion with staff and board, we created and adopted our Inclusivity Statement:
Community Resource Center believes that working towards diversity, equity, and inclusivity in all that we do is more than just a nonprofit best practice – it is an ethical imperative. It is at the core of our values and is instrumental in advancing our mission. We are committed to the ongoing process of fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment within Community Resource Center and throughout our partnerships with individuals, organizations, and networks across Colorado.
This is a celebrated milestone in our journey. We have much more work to do as an organization, sector, state, and nation to continue advancing these ideals. Nonetheless, progress.
