Through the Rural Action Network Community Resource Center (CRC) convenes a powerful network of nonprofits, community leaders, funders, and changemakers to tackle persistent issues, develop and cultivate rural leadership, align and increase the giving of philanthropy with the needs of rural nonprofits to support thriving and just communities across rural Colorado.
Northeast Regional Grant Writing Training Series
Last Spring, the Northeast RLC and Community Resource Center hosted a series of 101 grant writing trainings to empower leaders in the community to build their fundraising capacity. This Fall, the Northeast RLC will continue this grant writing series by offering two virtual 201 grant writing trainings with optional, in-person watch parties throughout the region.
After attending a training, participants will learn about grant writing and grant seeking topics such as:
- Structure a grant narrative for maximum effectiveness
- Build data systems for impactful grant reporting
- How to build next level funder relationships and cultivate donors
- Create sustainable grant management tools
- Build a culture of philanthropy across your organization
Steering Committee Outreach Sessions
Please join Community Resource Center for an outreach meeting to learn about the June 2025 Northeast Rural Philanthropy Days conference, which serves Cheyenne, Elbert, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington, and Yuma counties.
The Rural Philanthropy Days (RPD)® conference provides a forum for quality professional development opportunities close to home as well as networking with other community leaders in the region and relationship building opportunities with statewide funders. RPD not only creates the space to educate each other on regional needs but also works towards collaboratively addressing community-wide issues in the region. The conference revisits the Northeast region once every four years.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2021 Northeast RPD®
- Over $30,000 in economic impact to the community
- 134 participants
- Over $50,000 raised locally for the conference
- 95% of local participants reported that they built relationships with other nonprofits and community leaders in the region
- 90% of local participants reported that they learned new skills that will increase their professional capacity
Northeast Rural Philanthropy Days®

From June 9-11, 2021 over 150 nonprofit professionals, grantmakers, community leaders, distinguished speakers, and elected officials united in Lincoln County to exchange knowledge and expand professional networks at the Northeast Rural Philanthropy Days conference.
This opportunity only occurs once every four years in the Northeast region which is composed of Cheyenne, Elbert, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington, and Yuma counties. Rural Philanthropy Days™ (RPD) is a statewide program that provides nonprofit leaders the resources they need to lead effective and sustainable organizations.
Our Goals
- Rural Colorado’s nonprofit sector will have increased access to resources that support the operation of sustainable organizations in order to strengthen social impact.
- Grantmakers are increasingly engaged with rural Colorado community leaders to ensure a better understanding of regional challenges and collaborative opportunities.
- Rural communities have the resources needed to effectively collaborate on a regional scale by engaging nonprofit professionals, community leaders, government officials, and other statewide stakeholders.
