CRC believes in the power of volunteers to greatly impact the work and reach of the nonprofit sector. Our volunteers build the capacity of individuals, organizations and networks across the state. CRC’s volunteers are community leaders, local government officials, statewide grant makers, young professionals, nonprofit executives, students and mentors all with a vested interest in building the capacity and lifting up the work of Colorado’s diverse communities.

CRC is proud to announce that we have been certified by Points of Light as a Service Enterprise! We join nine other Colorado organizations and 11% of nonprofits nationwide in achieving this accomplishment. As a Service Enterprise organization, we have made a commitment to integrate volunteers in strategic and meaningful ways throughout our organization.

The Service Enterprise Initiative is a national change management program, lead by Points of Light, that helps organizations integrate volunteers in strategic and effective ways throughout the organization to achieve their mission. This two-year process of trainings, coaching calls, and integrating sustainable changes to CRC has transformed our organization to engage volunteers meaningfully. We have engaged volunteers deeply in our work for many years, but the Service Enterprise certification process has allowed us to think about how we can engage volunteers in new ways at all levels of our organization to further increase our impact and efficiency of our work.

Grants Guide® Research Volunteer Application
Voter Engagement Volunteer Application

The Participation Project, a program of Community Resource Center (CRC), is looking for enthusiastic part-time volunteers to help support our nonpartisan voter engagement program. Our goal is to engage over 10,000 low-income voters and communities of color through partnerships with over 30 nonprofit organizations across Colorado.  Volunteers will be responsible for working within diverse communities to provide voter education and collect voter registrations and pledges to vote at local nonprofit organizations. Locations are found throughout the Front Range (Ft. Collins to Denver) with volunteer placement dependent on location. Volunteer applicants should be willing to commit between 5-10 hours per week, for 4-6 weeks (August-October).

We are following all safety and social distancing protocols and will not send volunteers to a site if it is deemed unsafe to do so. When onsite at nonprofits, volunteers will be required to wear a mask, maintain six foot distance from others, and follow proper handling of forms to protect their safety and the safety of others.

CRC empowers nonprofits to fulfill their missions by building capacity, strengthening skills, and providing strategies for success. The Participation Project is a program of CRC that seeks to guide, train, and support human service nonprofits in their civic engagement and advocacy efforts because we believe in the power of the nonprofit vote to build a more inclusive and just Colorado – join our team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to 501(c)3 IRS Rules and Regulations concerning strict nonpartisanship.
  • Adhere to all safety and social distancing protocols when on the job.
  • Offer voter registration to individuals as they access services at local nonprofit organizations.
  • Conduct voter education and collect pledges to vote over the phone if in-person outreach is deemed unsafe.
  • Enthusiastically engage diverse communities and remain positive, assertive, and confident.
  • Ensure that voter registration and pledge information is accurately recorded and documented.
  • Respond to supervision and feedback during the course of the project when necessary, in order to ensure that activities are running smoothly.
  • Adhere to all county, state, and national rules and regulations concerning voter engagement and registration.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Strong commitment to the empowerment of underrepresented communities and to civic engagement.
  • Strong collaboration skills, and a desire to work as part of a team and respond to the needs of the team.
  • Experience working with diverse communities, in particular, communities of color and low-income communities.
  • Experience or training in voter registration preferred, but not required.
  • Experience phone banking and/or using digital outreach platforms such as Hustle, ThruTalk/ThruText preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with broad guidance, and a self-starter.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to stay on task and problem solve.
  • Enjoys meeting and interacting with new people.

Colorado Grants Guide® Research Volunteer Position

The Colorado Grants Guide Research Volunteer will help develop and manage the Colorado Grants Guide® by updating the live database and researching funders who provide support to Colorado nonprofits and communities using public information like organizational websites and accessing annual reports, IRS tax documents, and other financial information. You will gain in-depth knowledge of the Colorado and national grantmaking landscape and strengthen research skills necessary to sustain a nonprofit organization.

Location:

This is a fully remote position.

Major Responsibilities:

· Efficiently research and update funder profiles using a variety of online and public resources

· Work with proprietary and confidential information

· Communicate with the Program Coordinator to ensure profile accuracy

· Provide insight and expertise as we launch our new platform

· Help develop new strategies and opportunities that can benefit the subscriber’s experience

Qualifications:

· General computer and online research proficiency

· Data entry experience preferred

· Self-motivated with excellent analytical skills

· Highly organized and detail oriented

· Access to a computer and Internet

Commitment:

Weekly schedule is flexible. A minimum commitment of 2 hours (including check-in) per week for 8 weeks is required.
