Heart of Colorado

The next Heart of Colorado RPD conference will take place in 2020. The Heart of Colorado region is comprised of Chaffee, Clear Creak, Custer, Fremont, Gilpin, Lake, Park, Summit, and Teller counties.

Northeast

The next Northeast RPD conference will take place in 2020. The Northeast region is comprised of Cheyenne, Kit Carson, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington, and Yuma counties.

Board Development Training

The Northeast RPD Interim Committee is pleased to host a full-day Board Development training event in Morgan County on July 6, 2017. This training will provide an opportunity for regional service providers to network, share and collaborate around various elements of board development, recruitment, retention and management.

Morning Workshops:

Financial Literacy 
Join us for a session exploring financial statements- the foundation of financial literacy for nonprofit board members.  Understanding your financial position and statements and the story they tell about your nonprofit is a fundamental skill for nonprofit leaders and supporters.

Fundraising: Challenges and Successes
Join us for a dynamic panel discussion including a practitioner, consultant, and board member who will provide insights into fundraising in today’s philanthropic environment.  Through a discussion of best practices mixed with real life stories, you will learn the ingredients needed for success and return to your organization with practical ideas that you can immediately implement.  Come prepared with your questions for the panelists.

Afternoon Workshops:

Board Governance & Bylaws
Bylaws and Policies are the bedrock upon which nonprofits operate. This session will provide participants with samples, examples, and tools to ensure their organization is protected, strengthened and ready to move forward in meeting your mission through the policies and bylaws that govern your work.

Your Role As a Nonprofit/Civic Board Member
Have you been elected or appointed to a council, board, or commission? Are you unsure of your responsibilities? Are you nervous about your liability protections? This session, by local government attorney Tami Tanoue, will cover meeting practices, transparency, orderly public participation, open meetings law issues, executive sessions, and emails. She’ll talk about the role of social media in board-level issues and communications, your liability protections, and conflicts of interest. Whether you’re a new or veteran board member, you’ll come away with a renewed sense of your mission, role, and responsibilities.

Northwest

The next Northwest RPD conference will take place on September 27-29, 2017 in Craig. The Northwest region is comprised of Grand, Jackson, Moffat, Rio Blanco, and Routt counties

San Juan

The next San Juan RPD conference will take place June 14-16, 2017 in Montrose. The San Juan region is comprised of Gunnison, Hinsdale, Montrose, Ouray, and San Miguel counties.

San Luis Valley

The next San Luis Valley RPD conference will take place in September 2019. The San Luis Valley region is comprised of Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, Mineral, Rio Grande, and Saguache counties.

Leadership and Evaluation Tools

This full-day training opportunity consists of a morning workshop on leadership principles and an afternoon workshop on evaluation tools.

Workshop 1 | 9:00 am – 12:00pm: Building Organizational Capacity Using Inter-Connected Leadership Principles

Participants will learn the concepts, practices and benefits of establishing Inter-Connected Leadership style as the ground from which to lead and participate in groups.

Workshop 2 | 12:30 – 3:30pm: Survey Design and Analysis

Participants will learn how to better write surveys, generate more informative responses and analyze survey data to best tell your story and communicate impact.

Western Slope

Western Slope Symposium Series

The Western Slope Symposium Series is sponsored by the Western Slope Rural Philanthropy Days (WSRPD) Interim Committee, a coalition of regional nonprofit leaders who have joined together to bring nonprofit education opportunities to the region. The symposium series will provide an opportunity for service providers to network, share and collaborate. Western Slope nonprofits, groups who use fiscal agents, government officials, schools and universities are invited to participate.

Marketing and Social Media Symposium

The ​Marketing ​and ​Social ​Media ​Symposium ​will ​provide ​an ​opportunity ​for ​service ​providers ​to ​network, ​share ​and ​collaborate ​around ​various ​elements ​of ​marketing, ​communications, ​branding, ​social ​media ​and ​digital ​media ​tools.

Choose ​two ​half ​day ​workshops ​offered ​and ​learn ​tangible ​skills ​for ​planning, ​implementing ​and ​analyzing ​social ​media ​and ​branding ​strategies. ​With ​varying ​levels ​of ​content, ​we ​hope ​that ​there ​will ​be ​something ​for ​everybody, ​whether ​you ​are ​a ​new ​nonprofit ​looking ​to ​establish ​your ​organization’s ​brand ​and ​become ​familiar ​with ​social ​media ​platforms ​or ​are ​an ​existing ​nonprofit ​looking ​to ​re-brand ​or ​broaden ​and ​amplify ​your ​social ​media ​reach. ​All sessions ​will ​provide ​the ​opportunity ​for ​hands-on ​work. ​It ​is ​suggested ​you ​bring ​your ​laptops ​and ​access ​to ​any ​existing ​social/digital ​media ​accounts ​you ​might ​have. ​
