CRC’s eight vaccine equity AmeriCorps State and National members are serving across the state of Colorado in support of containment efforts and the advancement of vaccine equity initiatives through outreach and education. These eight members have stepped up to the plate and are providing direct in person services, strengthening their communities, and building the capacity of their host site organizations.
Members have been engaging with local communities though phone calls, door knocking, home visits, boothing and canvassing at community resource centers, disseminating culturally responsive vaccine educational materials, assisting patients in making COVID vaccine appointments, patient outreach and follow up with COVID vaccine appointments, data collection and more.
What Host Sites Are Saying
Over 100 of these vaccine fliers created by Vaccine Equity AmeriCorps member Karee Porth have been distributed in the community.
“Having our Americorp Member, Karee Porth, has brought so much energy and enthusiasm to our team and our department! She is eager to learn, excited to try new things and has helped us expand some of our outreach and marketing techniques to reach people in our community about the COVID-19 vaccine. She has been a huge gift to Sunrise Community Health in a time when health care needed some relief and extra hands on deck.”

What Members Are Saying
“Service to me means going above and beyond to help and better others. It’s important to listen to your community’s needs and to work hard to satisfy them. Even if you only are able to help a few people you are still making a huge impact! I feel like in only a few weeks I have been able to accomplish so much and learn more about my community. I’m excited to see what the rest of this experience will bring!”

“The best part of a community is when we take the time to listen to one another and come together to support each other. That’s what is happening when we address vaccine hesitancy and decide vaccination is the key to keeping our community safe.”
