Pre-Conference Trainings

Less than a month prior to the RPD event, the Community Resource Center and Anschutz Family Foundation provide critical training sessions across the host region. The training sessions are geared to help local organizations and agencies understand how to position their nonprofit to compete with Front Range entities, how to use Philanthropy Days to their best advantage, and how to increase their capacity to compete for grants. We include these trainings in your registration fee, and the training is certain to maximize your organization’s exposure to the right funders at RPD.

The three-hour workshops are designed to engage both veteran fundraisers and newcomers to the nonprofit world. Come be inspired, and get prepared to make the most of your Rural Philanthropy Days experience.

Pre-Conference trainings are required for first-time RPD attendees.

*We do not advise attending a makeup pre-conference training session. Attendees that choose this session will have less time to prepare for funder roundtables and fully research their potential opportunities.

Kumella Aiu graduated magna cum laude from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a BA in Social Enterprise. She comes to the foundation world with over nine years of experience working in the nonprofit sector and seven years as a small business owner. Kumella is the recipient of the League of Woman Voters’ Woman to Watch Award and the Metro State Outstanding Woman Award for her work advocating for women. She is currently an active member of COFIE (Colorado Funders for Inclusiveness and Equity) and is a Program Officer at the Anschutz Family Foundation.

Christina (Crissy) Supples is recognized as an effective community liaison, with 14 years of experience of working in collaboration with a diversity of stakeholders to improve nonprofit business processes and achieve results. As CRC’s Rural Philanthropy Days (RPD) Program Manager, she oversees programmatic efforts to connect Front Range foundations with community leaders in Colorado’s 51 non-metropolitan counties with the purpose of identifying and funding solutions to the most pressing needs in the state’s rural areas. Crissy holds a Master’s degree from Duke University and a certificate in Nonprofit Management. She graduated with honors from Colorado State University. She has worked to improve nonprofit capacity and report on outcomes across the globe. Crissy brings these skills to CRC, as well extensive experience managing non-profit and local government projects, organizing communities, overseeing communications, writing grants and supporting fundraising efforts. She believes in the power of an engaged community to be the change they wish to see in the world.
